visited the museum in June 2013 and thoroughly enjoyed the displays. Wish we had museums like this is Australia. The stuff on bell rock is fascinating as is the history of Arbroath and all the old photos are great, Well done to all who have created this. I also attended the talk by the last lighthouse keeper of bell rock and thanks to Kirsten for helping to get me a seat. She s a friendly and knowledgeable person to have at the front desk and followed through with request to attend talk. martin
This place is top notch

Great fun here
Brilliant harbour and nice views. The seagulls are very entertaining and the harbour has a great RNLI shop and museum.

Loved Arbroath Abbey as is the resting place of family members. Others migrated to USA, in early to mid 1800s, learned American English, assimilated into American culture and worked hard to realize the American Dream.
A good example of twelfth-century abbey ruins, distinct in its unique red coloring (representative of the color of the local sandstone, which is particularly dark compared to other sandstone structures around Scotland). Despite the state of the overall abbey, the abbot's house is in remarkable shape, including a few spots of original 16th century paint. This is also the place where the famous Declaration of Arbroath was (it is believed) written in 1320. The document, written to the Pope John XXII, established a philosophical foundation for Scottish sovereignty (although the exact objectives of the letter are matters of debate). In recognition, the abbey has a useful exhibit on the history of the document, including a replica of a copy from the National Archives of Scotland. While I'm happy to have visited Arbroath, my primary interest was in seeing the (excellent) St. Vigeans Sculpted Stones museum (which I highly recommend); given their proximity, they make a convenient pairing.

The food was cooked excellently but more importantly the service by the host waitress was fantastic. The drinks were good especially the rose wine. Well worth coming to on a night out if you're staying nearby.

Sometimes this place is great sometimes it's not. So in general it's OK. We have came here for years when spending the day in Arbroath although I haven't been in a while. Usually you can't go wrong getting the fish.
Amazing fish, great service and very happy to cater for your needs
